GOOD NEWS! We are pleased Hawa now has a sponsor.
However there are 6 more children like Hawa that are still in need of a sponsor.
They are those most in need and who would otherwise not be able to attend beyond primary school. It costs just £5 per month or £60 per year to sponsor a child like Hawa. Can you help?

Alimamy’s story
Alimamy Barrie was sitting at the roadside crying when the Acting Head Master, Solomon Scott-Manga drove past. He turned his moped around and went back, the young boy was crying because he couldn’t go to school. Solomon took him to St Paul’s, showed him around and asked if they were able to arrange it would he like to go to that school? A dream come true for this child. Alimamy is an orphan and lives with a family from the same area. Every morning and evening he delivers bread to buy his food for that day. The committee in Bo agreed to put his name forward for sponsorship. He is one of the many children who missed schooling due to the war. He started his first year at senior school at the age of 14 and has continued to deliver bread before and after school to pay for his food. His sponsor visited Bo in 2012 and what could you give a football mad teenager but a football Manual. Alimamy despite missing so much early schooling is now in Class 3 in Senior Secondary school.
UPDATE 2017: Alimany has chosen not to return following the enforced school closure due to Ebola. None of the pupils contracted Ebola.
Mathilda’s story
Jebbah Kanimah exchanged letters periodically with her sponsor. It caused great sadness when we heard unexpectedly that she was pregnant and died in child birth. Mathilda, Jebbah’s younger sister was given the sponsorship place in 2012. Although saddened by her sister’s tragic death Mathilda is taking full advantage of possibly her only chance to attend secondary school. She has worked hard and is now at Senior Secondary School in Class 3 with a further year of schooling ahead of her.
UPDATE: Matilda has been successfully promoted to SSS4, the final year of senior secondary school.
