A Night of Brains, Bites & Big-Hearted Giving

Charity Quiz Night raises over £2,600 for St Paul’s School, Bo, Sierra Leone

On a wonderful evening at West Wittering Memorial Hall, the local community came together for a truly memorable charity quiz night — and the results were nothing short of remarkable.

Teams of all ages put their knowledge to the test across a lively evening of questions and cryptic puzzles, with plenty of friendly rivalry, laughter, and the occasional moment of collective head-scratching. The competition was spirited, the atmosphere warm, and the sense of community purpose was felt throughout the hall.

But the evening was about far more than winning. Every point scored and every raffle ticket purchased was in service of something much bigger — supporting the pupils and staff of St Paul’s School in Bo, Sierra Leone, and helping to build brighter futures for the children who attend.

The food on the night was lovingly prepared and served by a dedicated team of volunteers who ensured that everyone was well fed and in good spirits throughout. Alongside the quiz, a raffle added to the fun and generosity of the evening, with guests digging deep to support such a worthy cause.

None of it would have been possible without the tremendous effort of so many people behind the scenes — those who set up the hall, those who crafted and ran the quiz, those who cooked and served, and all who gave their time so freely and enthusiastically. Their hard work and commitment to the cause made the evening the success it undoubtedly was.

And what a success it was. The evening raised over £2,600, a testament to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended and supported the event. These funds will make a real and lasting difference to the school community in Bo, contributing to resources, facilities, and opportunities for the young people there.

A heartfelt thank you goes to each and every person who played a part — whether you set a question, served a plate, bought a raffle ticket, or simply showed up and joined in. We are enormously proud of all that was achieved thanks to the community.
