Pimms in the Garden – no wash out!

For the second time in row it bucketed down for our Pimms in the Garden fund-raiser. But once again the garden became Jill’s swimming pool and we sweltered in tropical heat as  sipped our Pimms and consumed enormous quantities of delicious canapes whilst listening to Tim Parson’s soothing piano music, improving our geography of Sierra Leone,  and watching the storm rage outside.

It was a lovely party and despite lower numbers because of the weather this did not diminish people’s generosity and we raised a fantastic £1,380 towards the second storey of the new Senior Secondary School block which we hope to be able to start building soon.

A huge thank you to all who worked so hard to make it the success it was, and to all who braved the elements to take part and who gave so generously. The new SSS block will almost double the size of the school and give so many more children the chance to make something of their lives they would not otherwise have had. It is a very worthwhile cause.
